BERLÜF air handling units are equipped with the anti-frost system in a standard version. When the
temperature of the exhaust air, after passing through the exchanger, drops to 1°C, it is activated. This
system prevents a white frost phenomenon. Each recuperator has a heat exchanger through which the
mixed air flows. When temperature is close to zero, in the heat exchanger, the moisture condensing from
the warm and humid exhaust air freezes, at the same time blocking the airflow. In order to prevent such a
phenomenon, a system deactivating the air-supply fan or its operation efficiency is reduced. At this point,
the heat exchanger is heated with the used air which is extracted from the room.
